Lonnie Hammer is a talented and driven musician with a career spanning numerous bands and 18 albums. As a multi-talented drummer, vocalist, and songwriter, Hammer has earned major-league status within the music industry.

Throughout his illustrious career, Hammer has played with legendary rock bands such as BLACK OAK ARKANSAS, EVERY MOTHER'S NIGHTMARE (EMN), JONAH 33, and CHOSEN, and has played for JACK RUSSELL'S GREAT WHITE. He has also been a go-to studio drummer at the renowned Sun Studios, Ardent Studios, and Kiva (House of Blues) Studios.

In 2008, Hammer was nominated for "Best Drummer" in the American Online Music Awards alongside Chad Smith from RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS and Simon Wright, who played with RONNIE JAMES DIO and RHINO BUCKET.

Never complacent in his success, Hammer is constantly writing and recording. In fact, within a year, he released four records, including "Underdog Heroes" with BLACK OAK ARKANSAS, the vinyl release of "Grind" with EVERY MOTHER'S NIGHTMARE (EMN), and two solo albums, "Total Annihilation" and "Madness Serves Me Well," under the name HAMMER DOWN HARD.

Lonnie Hammer is also the singer, songwriter, and frontman for his solo project, HAMMER DOWN HARD, which he formed in the fall of 2017. Along with producer and fellow songwriter Justin Rimer (Cross Trax Studio), he composed songs with a modern hard rock edge that blends into well-grounded metal.

The debut album, "Total Annihilation," features all-star guest performances by members of SHINEDOWN, CANDLEBOX, SALIVA, GREAT WHITE, BLACK OAK ARKANSAS, RIOT, TWELVE STONES, WINGER, and SURRENDER THE FALL.

"Total Annihilation" debuted at #3 as the "Most Added" record on the Metal Contraband Chart and remained in the "Heavy Top 40" for eight weeks. The band was voted Rockwired Magazine's "Artist of the Month" for August 2018 by fans only weeks after their debut and was selected as one of the "Top 20 New Bands That Rocked 2018."

The Memphis Grizzlies, an NBA team, play "Total Annihilation" and "Who I Am" in full rotation at the FedEx Forum during live games to fire up the players and fans. Hammer also co-wrote and played on the track "Knock You Down," which was personally chosen by WWE's Jerry "The King" Lawler as the theme song for his wrestling television show. The song was also used by the Arena Football League team The Memphis Xplorers.
