With numerous bands and 18 albums under his belt, LONNIE HAMMER’s drive, talent, and determination have kept him at major-league status within the music industry. During his illustrious career as a multi-talented drummer/vocalist/songwriter, Hammer is a former member and recording artist with the legendary rock band BLACK OAK ARKANSAS, as well as EVERY MOTHER’S NIGHTMARE (EMN), JONAH 33, and CHOSEN, and played for JACK RUSSELL’S GREAT WHITE.

 

Never one to rest on his laurels and always with a few surprises up his sleeve, LONNIE HAMMER released four (4) records within a year; "Underdog Heroes" with BLACK OAK ARKANSAS, the vinyl release of "Grind" with EMN, and two (2) of his own solo albums, "Total Annihilation" and "Madness Serves Me Well" under the name HAMMER DOWN HARD - his solo project.

The debut album, "Total Annihilation", showcases all-star guest performances by members of SHINEDOWN, CANDLEBOX, SALIVA, GREAT WHITE, BLACK OAK ARKANSAS, RIOT, TWELVE STONES, WINGER, and SURRENDER THE FALL.

 

"Total Annihilation" debuted at #3 as the "Most Added" record on the METAL CONTRABAND CHART and remained in the "Heavy Top 40" for eight weeks. HAMMER DOWN HARD was voted ROCKWIRED MAGAZINE'S  "Artist of the Month" for August 2018 by the fans only weeks after their debut and was selected as one of the "Top 20 New Bands That Rocked 2018." HAMMER DOWN HARD was formed by renowned hard rock drummer/singer/songwriter LONNIE HAMMER in the Fall of 2017, with assistance from then-manager Kim Allegrezza (THE ALLEGREZZA AGENCY). HAMMER DOWN HARD features some of the finest musicians in the hard rock and heavy metal music scene in their ranks. LONNIE HAMMER, along with fellow songwriter and producer Justin Rimer (Cross Trax Studio), composed songs with a modern hard rock edge that blends into well-grounded metal.

LONNIE HAMMER, as the songwriter, vocalist/frontman, and studio drummer, branched out into new territory musically and lyrically with HAMMER DOWN HARD, by pushing deep into the creative realms of himself.  By writing honest songs with powerful vocals, this formidable artistry brings sheer rock fury into the music world. 

 

HAMMER DOWN HARD prides itself on conquering the stage and rocking the crowd each and every night during live performances.  The band hit the ground running by playing their very first show at Wisconsin's Rock Fest in July of 2018.  That night’s main stage lineup was HAMMER DOWN HARD, Autograph, Skid Row, and Ace Frehley.

LONNIE HAMMER is constantly writing and recording. HAMMER was the go-to studio drummer at the legendary Sun Studios, Ardent Studios, and Kiva (House of Blues) Studios. The NBA basketball team "Memphis Grizzlies" play “Total Annihilation” and “Who I Am” in full rotation at the FEDEX FORUM during live games to fire up the players and fans.  Hammer co-wrote and played on the track “Knock You Down,” which was personally chosen by WWEʼs Jerry “The King” Lawler as the theme song for his wrestling television show. The song was also used by the Arena Football League team The Memphis Xplorers.

 

LONNIE HAMMER was nominated for “Best Drummer” in the American Online Music Awards in 2008, alongside Chad Smith from RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS and Simon Wright who played with RONNIE JAMES DIO and RHINO BUCKET.

 

LONNIE HAMMER lives to play and has no plans of slowing down. One of HAMMER'S favorite things to do is meet and talk to fans at shows or via social media. This care, time, and effort have earned him the love and adoration of so many people from around the world.
